Black & Tan Dragons - Male, Hatching, Mother
While clearing out the Windstone warehouse, we found these VERY rare Black and Tan dragons that we had test marketed in one store around 1986. These are very old castings, painted in a way similar to the old fashioned brown dragons, but they were shaded with black. Their markings resemble those of Doberman Pinscher dogs. The two adults are from this original test batch and are some of the very first castings we ever did of these dragons. These were cast before the sculptures had even had their final sanding and detailing, so their scales are not as smooth and the tiny details are not as complete as in the final versions. The hatchling is also a very old piece from about the same period, but was the normal brown color. I repainted him to match just so they could have a baby. We have found only six of these black and tan dragons (just adults, no hatchlings) among the various other color samples we kept in the warehouse. We are keeping one pair for the Windstone archive, so this is one of the two sets that we will ever have for sale. They aren't the greatest examples of Windstone painting quality, and are sloppy in spots (I painted these myself a long time ago, when I was learning how to do it!) but it is all authentic sloppiness! The finish, like that of our oldest dragons, is more matte than glossy. The two adults have a Windstone Editions stamp right on the bottom. They do not have felt pads, because they are too old. The hatchling has a very early (it looks hand cut) unstamped grey felt pad. They all have blue glass eyes and aqua jewels in their foreheads. These dragons do not have hang tags, but the bottoms have been signed by me, Melody Pena. These came with a signed letter of authenticity and on the letter is a sketch of a dragon and also an old Windstone advertising post card I found that has a picture of a male dragon painted in a variation of this color pattern.

Old Warrior - Copper Mauve
This one is painted in  a color that is hard to describe. His body is mostly an odd, but very interesting color created by painting metallic violet and gold over a base coat of copper paint. This created a soft "mauve" color with golden highlights. There are some areas, like his hind feet, that have a bit of translucent ruby paint over this gold copper and violet. This created a brownish reddish color that there is no English name for at all. He is a real mish-mosh of some weird colors, but the overall effect is very pleasing and subtle. He has real gold leaf details on his wings and the small  horns on his head. The rest of the details are of metallic paint. He has two gold plated pewter horns and his glass eyes are red. It is possible that any of these Old Warrior test colors may become a new Windstone color for more of our dragons, and I have also done other versions of copper colored prototype Old Warriors, but there will never be another Prototype Old Warrior just  like this one. This is a mint Old Warrior Prototype dragon that has been repainted by me in the Windstone Factory. He has the grey felt Windstone Editions pad on the bottom. We didn't use hangtags when he was originally made so he doesn't have one of those. Since he is a one of a kind, I have written the name "Copper Mauve" above my signature instead of a number. He came with a signed letter of authenticity and on the letter is a sketch of a dragon.

Old Warrior - Gold Leaf
This is a one-of-a-kind prototype Old Warrior dragon that was finished in 23k gold leaf. Nothing else looks quite like the real thing. This dragon's color is a rich, burnished gold, shaded and antiqued with dark brown acrylic paint. The impossible-to-gold leaf spots (such as the area between his wings near the neck) were airbrushed with gold colored acrylic paint. This dragon does not have the perfectly smooth, glossy looking surface like our painted dragons do. The surface is very lustrous though. He looks like a treasure from an ancient tomb. I detailed the ribs on the wings and a few other little spots with gold colored metallic paint so that they stand out a bit against the more yellow real gold. The claws, teeth and the small horns on his head are gold-leafed. His big horns are gold plated pewter. He has dark red glass eyes and the Windstone Editions felt pad on the bottom. The pad is signed by me, Melody Pena, and since he is one of a kind, I have written the name "Gold Leaf" above my name instead of a number. Although we may issue our "normal" dragons in a painted "gold" someday, there will never be another prototype Old Warrior in real gold leaf. He came with a signed letter of authenticity and on the letter is a sketch of a dragon.

Old Warrior - Flame
These are Prototype Old Warrior Dragons from Windstone Editions, test painted in a new color I call "Flame." T he colors are violet, red, gold and an orange-ish flame color that is created by overlapping the gold and red paint. They have red glass eyes, metallic gold painted details and gold plated pewter horns. They will be numbered and hand signed by me, and the winners will get a nice letter of authenticity .They are mint dragons that have been taken directly from their storage boxes and repainted by me in the Windstone factory. (They were originally the Emerald color.) No hang tags, but they have the stamped grey felt Windstone pad on the bottom. These pads are slightly more worn looking than a mint pad because the dragons were repainted with the pads in place. It is possible that any of these new test  colors may become a new Windstone dragon color for all of our dragons someday, but there will never be more than twenty five (one is our paint sample) of these "Flame" prototype old warriors.

Old Warrior - Emerald Peacock
This is another test painted prototype "Old Warrior" dragon from Windstone Editions. He is a cross between a Peacock and  Emerald dragon. We sold ten in this color on eBay. His body is vivid violet, blue, emerald and gold with painted metallic gold details. He has gold plated pewter horns, metallic gold paint on his claws and blue glass eyes. He has the Windstone Editions grey felt pad on the bottom. These old warriors do not have hangtags because we didn't use them when these were made. The surface is not super glossy, but is very reflective due to the metallic flakes in the paint. This Old Warrior prototype is a casting of the first original sculpture I did of the "Old Warrior." This special run of hybrid Peacock-Emerald dragons have all been painted by me. (I don't usually paint Windstone stuff myself, I just design the way they are painted.) I even put the gold details on by myself this time. These dragons were all accompanied by a signed letter of authenticity and included a sketch of a dragon on the letter.

Old Warrior - Black Gold
This is a prototype "Old Warrior" dragon, from Windstone Editions, in "Black Gold." This is a limited edition of twenty-four that I have painted in this color pattern. This color was the first of several other experimental test colors that I am trying out on these prototype Old Warriors. This new color pattern was so popular that we now offer it on most of our dragon sculptures. There will never be more than twenty-six total of these Old Warrior prototypes painted this way however. I am keeping one for myself and one as a paint sample (which has a bad eye).... so that leaves twenty-four perfect ones that were numbered. His body is black with metallic gold, copper, red and violet markings. He has gold plated pewter horns, details of metallic gold paint and blue glass eyes. He has the Windstone Editions grey felt pad on the bottom. The surface is not super glossy but has a more matte finish, which, I think, shows off the black better. This special run of "Black Gold" dragons have all been painted by me, Melody Pena. This is like a big deal, because I don't paint all the normal Windstone stuff myself. I just design the way they are painted. The gold details were painted on by my daughter, Chessie, who is getting pretty good at it. These were accompanied by a signed letter of authenticity and included a sketch of a dragon on the letter.

Old Warrior - Autumn Leaf
This is a one-of-a-kind prototype Old Warrior dragon from Windstone Editions with real gold leaf details. He is one version of a color idea I've been working on using the colors of fallen leaves. He is painted with green, red, gold and a combination of our ruby and emerald paint  that creates a rich dark plum color. I stuck some blue in there as well, suggested by a torn piece of blue tarp material that was in the pile of leaves that inspired me. He has been detailed with metallic gold paint, as well as real gold leaf on the edges of his wings, teeth, small horns and nose ornament. This guy looks glorious under florescent lights. The surface isn't glossy, but the reflective flecks in the paint give him a satin-like shine. This is a prototype Old Warrior Dragon casting and a mint dragon repainted by me, Melody Pena, in the Windstone factory. He has a grey felt Windstone Editions pad on the bottom. Since this is a one-of -a-kind dragon, he has the name "Autumn Leaf " written above my signature instead of a number. He came with a signed letter of authenticity and included a sketch of a dragon on the letter.

Old Warrior - Emerald and Peacock
You’ve bought one of our prototype Old Warrior Dragons. We call it the “scratch breasted” Old Warrior. We made about 340 of these in peacock color and 170 in emerald green. We will be selling 50 of these in peacock color, and 50 of these in emerald on eBay, and we are re-painting the others into limited edition batches of test colors of about 24 each (and possibly some one of a kind editions) which we will also be selling on eBay. These will only be available directly from Windstone Editions through eBay auctions. This design was the way I originally sculpted it. His chest and rear end have much more battle damage than our present version. I removed most of these claw and pock marks from the final version because we were afraid folks would think that this was shipping damage or casting imperfections. The way his head and wing touch was also changed in the later version. We found that the castings often cracked at this joint. The few painted ones we have are the only perfect ones we produced in about January 1999 – the rest were destroyed. We produced the final version in March 1999.

Old Warrior - Black Emerald Peacock
Limited Edition Prototype Old Warrior dragon, painted in Black Emerald Peacock. This is #1 of a signed edition of 24 that I plan to do in this color. This is the Emerald version of the two Black Peacock color patterns I plan to try. (The next will be a Violet Peacock.) Most of his body is a warm black color with trim and wingwebs painted with golden and emerald green, blue and violet. He is painted with metallic gold on his smaller horns, claws, wingribs and other decorations. He has blue glass eyes and his large horns are gold plated pewter. His finish is satin, which I think shows off the black color very nicely. This is a mint dragon that has been repainted in the Windstone factory. He was originally the Peacock color. These Prototype dragons do not have hangtags and he will be signed and numbered by me, Melody Pena. He will come with a letter of authenticity. Any of these test painted dragons we try may become a production color for all of our dragons, but there will never be more than 25 (one is our sample) of these prototype Old Warriors in this color.

Old Warrior - Brown
This is the first time we have offered the Old Warrior dragon in our "old brown" color! He has been air-brushed with paint that was left over from the original (now retired) brown dragon family, so he will match the most recent version of that family perfectly. (The older  version of our brown dragons were a more uniform red-brown, without the distinct orange color.) The Old Warrior doesn't have a jewel in his forehead, but he has the same color of blue eyes, and has the same spots of blue and green on his face and body. The ribs of his wings and other trim are painted with metallic gold. This is the present version of the Old Warrior, not the prototype version. This guy is a mint, limited production dragon available only directly from Windstone Editions. He was signed by me, Melody Pena, and he came with a signed letter of authenticity. He has a Windstone felt pad and hang tag.

Old Warrior - Silver Grey
This is a prototype old warrior dragon repainted in silver grey. This is #1 of a limited edition of eight (and one "artist's proof")  that I have painted in this color. His muted colors are a change from the brightly colored Warriors I have painted previously. He reminds me of an old banged-up suit of armor. He is painted in metallic silver and steel grey with trim of metallic silver and gold. The silver paint causes the surface to be a little rough in spots because of the particles in it, but overall he has a nice satin finish. This color shows the details of the scales exceptionally well. He has blue glass eyes and gold plated pewter horns. I also air brushed him with some special  invisible paint. This paint gives the effect of tiny, almost invisible sparks of rainbow colored glitter on the surface, but can only be seen in direct sunlight! It was pretty pointless to use this paint on him since this dragon is intended for indoor display only but you can see the colors if you take him outside into the bright sun. The grey Windstone pad on the bottom is numbered and signed by me, Melody Pena. He came with a signed letter of authenticity. This repainted prototype dragon does not have a hang tag,  because we didn't use them when he was first made.

Old Warrior - Blue Violet Flame
This is a repaired one-of-a-kind prototype Old Warrior painted by me, Melody Pena, in a color I call "Blue Violet Flame."  I painted several "flame" one-of-a-kinds in different but similar color schemes before deciding on the "flame" color I used to paint a batch of these in. This is one of the first tests. This Old Warrior's paint job is based on copper rather than the gold and ruby paint I used for the final "flame" color so he should really be called something like "Blue Violet Bronze." Oh well.  His body is mostly metallic bronze and gold with shading of ruby red, his wings and breast are violet and blue metallic paint. His trim is mostly 18k gold paint with a little 24k gold leaf and metallic gold paint  in the tight spots that I couldn't get the real gold onto. He has two gold plated pewter horns and glass eyes. He has many layers of clear glossy acrylic finish on him, but these repainted Old Warriors typically have a rough pebbly finish on the inside surface of the  tight areas, such as the space between the neck and wings, from the many layers of paint on them. This Old Warrior isn't mint. He has somehow chipped two toenails on his front foot. I have repaired them with epoxy putty and repainted them with gold to look just like the other toes, so it is very hard to tell. The felt pad on the bottom is signed the bottom with the words Blue Violet Flame.

Old Warrior - Intense Violet Emerald Peacock
This is an Old Warrior dragon (the regular production style, not a prototype) from Windstone Editions, painted in "Intense Violet Emerald Peacock."  This is the first one of ten in this color that we are offering on ebay.  Old Warrior Dragons NEARLY identical to this are available in stores now.  He is almost identical to the production Emerald Peacock available in stores, but he has a brighter violet color on his undersides. The production version has a slightly more bluish violet. In the past auctions, "Hybrid Emerald Peacock" was the name we used for the limited edition color on the prototype Old Warriors and Secret Keepers.  We left off the "hybrid" part of the name this time,  but this color is still a cross between the Emerald color and the Peacock color of Windstone dragons.  His airbrushed colors blend from emerald green on his dorsal scales through blue-green, blue, to bright violet on his lower body and nose. He has metallic painted gold trim and details, blue glass eyes  and an amethyst colored jewel in his forehead.  The large horns are 24k gold plated pewter.  He is about 7-1/2 inches tall and 11 inches long. This dragon is mint with a hang tag and is signed  by me, Melody Pena, on the felt bottom.  He will come with a letter of authenticity.

Old Warrior - Black Violet Peacock

This is a prototype Old Warrior Dragon repainted in Black Violet Peacock. This is #2 of a signed and numbered limited edition of 15 that I have done in this color. This is the Violet version of the two Black Peacock color patterns I have done. The other version was called Black Emerald Peacock. The Emerald edition has been sold out. If you haven't seen one, and would like to, email me and I can send you a link to a photo. Like the Emerald version, most of this dragon's body is a warm black color, but he has trim and wingwebs painted with blue and violet metallic paint instead of green. He has details painted with metallic gold acrylic and has 18k gold paint on his smaller horns, claws, wingribs and other decorations. He has blue glass eyes and his large horns are gold plated pewter. He is a casting of the original Old Warrior Dragon sculpture the way I originally intended them to look, with more scratches, pock marks and other signs of past battles than the Old Warrior we now sell through stores. I removed most of these scratches and holes from the final version because they looked too much like defects in the castings. His neck also touches his wing in this version. He is about 7-1/2 inches tall and 11 inches long. This dragon, with the other prototypes from this batch, have been kept in storage in the Windstone warehouse. They are all in mint condition and none have ever been removed from their boxes until now for painting and a final quality check. The grey Windstone pad on the bottom has been numbered and signed by me, Melody Pena. He will come with a signed letter of authenticity. This repainted prototype dragon does not have a hang tag, because we didn't use them when he was first made. Any of these test painted dragons we try may become a production color for all of our dragons, including the regular production Old Warriors, but there will never be more than 16 (we will keep one for ourselves) of these prototype Old Warriors in this color.

This mint Secret Keeper Dragon from is painted in Black Emerald Peacock for dark secrets.  This is #1 in a limited edition of six that I am painting in this color. Most of her body is air brushed in a warm black color with trim and wingwebs painted with golden and emerald green, blue and violet.  She is painted with metallic gold on the smaller horns, claws, wingribs, and other decorations. She has knowing blue glass eyes and holds a small ice blue jewel in her raised fore paw along with all your secrets. The finish is just a little more glossy than a satin finish. The grey Windstone Editions felt pad on the bottom will be numbered and signed by me, Melody Pena.  She will have a hang tag and the winner will also get a signed letter of authenticity. This Secret Keeper is a pre-production version of this sculpture.  The final version that will be available in stores (someday!) may have a hollow core to lighten the piece a little.  This one is a solid casting.

Secret Keeper - Violet Flame
"Violet Flame"  is a more insane version of the "Flame" color. This dragon was painted in  vivid violet, bright orange-red fire and gold with details of real gold leaf. I did a lot of hand painting on this dragon and I love the look of  the sharply defined areas of contrasting colors used together with softly blended airbrushed areas. I "antiqued" the orange and red scaled areas with blue and violet paint, which adds nicely to the sense of chaos. Because of the metallic particles in the paint I have used for this new color, she has a slightly rough, textured surface, similar to ceramic stone-ware. It is a nice effect, though different from the ultra smooth glossy surface our regular production dragons have.
This is a big dragon. She is 17" tall and weighs 32 pounds. She has knowing orange glass eyes and the Windstone Editions felt pad on the bottom with a hang tag. She holds all of your secrets in her right paw, where I can't see them, along with a diamond-like jewel that I just decided to stick there. This Secret Keeper is a pre-production version of this sculpture. The final version that will be available in stores (someday!) will have a hollow core to lighten the piece a little. This one is a solid casting. This is a mint dragon, painted by me, Melody Pena, in the Windstone Editions factory. I have signed the bottom, and since she is one-of-a-kind, I have written the name "Violet flame" above my signature, instead of a number. She came with a signed letter of authenticity and included a sketch of a dragon on the letter.

Secret Keeper - White
Although we have only a couple of these White dragons available now, we might produce this dragon in this color in the future, so she is not a numbered limited edition. This is a prototype casting. We had intended to make her with a hollow core for production purposes, but this prototype dragon is a solid one and weighs thirty-two pounds! She is airbrushed with the same pearly white paint as our White series of dragons. Like them, she has pale gold shading in addition to the pearl white on her body. Her claws and horns are pale gold, not the darker metallic gold we use for details on the other colors of dragons. She has straw colored glass eyes, and holds a light blue jewel in her raised paw, along with all your secrets. The felt pad on the bottom is signed and she comes with a letter of authenticity.

Secret Keeper - Spring Green Gold - by Windstone Artist Olimpia Carapia
A Secret Keeper dragon painted in Spring Green Gold by Olimpia Carapia, our head painter here at Windstone Editions. This is one of an "Artist's Edition." An "Artist's Edition" is a term we made up to mean an edition that will be signed by the artist who created the color scheme and actually painted the piece. There isn't a set limit to the number of pieces in an edition, but these Artist's Edition pieces will remain rare because the number of pieces produced will be limited by the time available to the artist and the difficulty in producing these complicated colors! Individual pieces in an Artist's Edition may have more variations in color and pattern between them than production or limited production pieces because they are each painted individually.
This Secret Keeper is the color of spring green and gold. Her body has flecks of metallic gold glittering through the transparent gold and green paint. She has been carefully antiqued with a darker color so that every single scale stands out. This dragon shows an exceptional amount of detail! She holds a yellow jewel in her up raised paw. Her horns and details are painted with 18k gold paint. Her fancy glass eyes have a brilliant dichroic Aurora Borealis coating on the back. This special coating makes them shine with fiery gold and rainbow reflections. Their colors shift with the light direction and from whatever direction you are viewing it from.
The Secret Keeper is our largest dragon sculpture. She is 17-1/2 inches tall and about 12 inches wide. This is a solid casting. We hope to have hollow castings of these some day, but for now, these large dragons weigh 32 pounds and 38 pounds to ship. Comes with a signed and dated letter of authenticity and Olimpia has signed the felt pad on the dragon's base. This dragon is mint. We do plan to auction other pieces specially painted and signed by Olimpia. They are just so spectacular that we feel they need to be made available to serious Windstone collectors who want a "crown jewel" for their collection.

Secret Keeper - Red Gold - by Windstone Artist Olimpia Carapia

Her deep red body has flecks of metallic gold glittering through the transparent ruby and maroon paint. Her neck ridge and wings are a fiery golden orange with sparkles of metallic gold. The depth of these colors were achieved by painting layers and layers of color over each other. Notice the eyes!! They are special too! These glass eyes have a brilliant dichroic Aurora Borialis coating on the back. This special coating makes them shine with fiery gold and rainbow reflections. Their colors shift with the light direction. Olimpia has signed a letter of authenticity and the felt pad on the dragon's base.

Secret Keeper - Cinnamon Pearl - by Windstone Artist Olimpia Carapia
This is #1 of an Artist's Edition Cinnamon Pearl Secret Keeper Dragon painted by Olimpia Carapia, our lead painter here at Windstone Editions.  It is hard for me to come up with enough superlatives to describe this one.  "Drop dead gorgeous" falls short.
An "Artist's Edition" is a term we made up to mean an edition that will be signed by the artist who created the color scheme and actually painted the piece.  There isn't a set limit to the editions, but these Artist's Editions will remain rare, because the number of pieces produced will be limited by the time available to the artist and the difficulty in producing these complicated colors!
This large goddess of a dragon is painted predominantly with pearl, metallic copper and gold acrylic paint.  Her details have been beautifully enhanced with dark brown antique stain, so that every tiny scale is framed.  The pearly quality of the undercoat does not photograph very well and this paint has a bit more sparkle and sheen than you can see on a computer screen.  This dragon has special glass eyes.  They have a highly reflective dichroic coating on the back and reflect a variety of colors.  She is detailed with 18k gold paint and holds a crystal jewel in her raised paw, along with all of your secrets. A few of our Windstone forum members have seen this dragon at the Windstone factory and can attest as to how beautiful she is!  You might want to check out our Windstone collector's forum for their comments.
The Secret Keeper is our largest dragon sculpture.  She is 17-1/2 inches tall and about 12 inches wide.  This is a solid casting.  We hope to have hollow castings of these some day, but for now, these large dragons weigh 32 pounds!   She weighs 38 pounds to ship.  Because they are so heavy the few that we make are only available direct from Windstone. Secret Keeper - Dark Silver- by Windstone Artist Olimpia Carapia
This is a test painted Secret Keeper painted in Dark Silver.  This will be a limited production color like our other silver dragons.  This dragon is a little darker than the Male and Female dragons in silver that we sell from our website, so she may not match them perfectly, but I think she is very nice looking. This dragon is painted in shades of metallic silver and dark pewter grey.  This paint glitters with metallic silver flecks on the surface.  Her horns and details are painted with metallic gold paint.  The normal limited production silvers have orange eyes but this dragon has special dichroic eyes.  These are eyes with a mirror-like backing that changes color with the light direction.  They have an overall fiery orange color and have black pupils.  She holds a white diamond colored Swarovski crystal jewel in her raised paw, along with all of your secrets.
This is a mint dragon.  She has a hang tag and since this is a test paint piece, she will be signed by me, Melody Pena.  You will also get a letter of authenticity with her. This is a big dragon! She is 17-1/2" tall and 12" wide.

Her horns and details are painted with lighter metallic gold paint.  Her special eyes have a mirror-like dichroic backing that changes color with the light.  They have an overall fiery orange color and have black pupils.  She holds an Amethyst colored Swarovski crystal jewel in her raised paw, along with all of your secrets.  Olimpia has signed  the felt pad on the bottom and this dragon comes with a hang tag.  You will also get a letter of authenticity.

Here is an Artist's Edition Secret Keeper painted in a color called "Twilight" by our head painter Olimpia Carapia. This dragon is painted in shades of blue, from very light blue on her breast scales to very deep purpleish blue.  This paint also has glittery flecks of metallic silver on  the surface. Her horns and details are painted with metallic gold paint.  She has been antiqued with great care so that every scale is defined with a dark edge.  Her eyes have a mirror-like dichroic backing that changes color with the light.  They have an overall fiery orange color and have  black pupils.  She holds a light blue Swarovski crystal jewel in her raised paw along with all of your secrets.  Olimpia has signed and numbered the felt pad on the bottom and it comes with a hang tag. You will also get a letter of authenticity. This is a big dragon! She is 17-1/2" tall and 12" wide.

Sun Dragon - Special Green - by Windstone Artist Olimpia Carapia
Here is another wonderful piece custom painted and signed by our head painter Olimpia Carapia.  For now this Sun Dragon is a "one-of-a-kind" but if everyone likes the color, she may paint some more that are similar or the same.  In any case, this one will be marked as Number One.  She is experimenting with new colors on the Sun Dragons so we will be listing the prototypes on eBay as well as other pieces by Olimpia. The painting of these pieces is far more detailed than our normal production and, of course, they take much longer to paint so they will always be made and sold in limited numbers.  The colors and patterns are of Olimpia's own design. Note the glass eyes in this dragon which are dichoric coated (as is the crystal ball) and reflect in different colors depending on the type of light and it's angle. This Sun Dragon is 10-1/2 inches long and 7-1/4 inches tall.  This mint dragon came with a signed and dated letter of authenticity and Olimpia signed the felt pad on the dragon's base.

Sun Dragon - Blue - by Windstone Artist Olimpia Carapia
This is a one of a kind test paint Oriental Sun dragon airbrushed in a sparkley blue color.  This one isn't signed and we won't make anymore exactly like this one because I have a strong personal dislike for the combination of gold, silver and blue together.  Maybe someone out there feels the opposite about it!
His body is painted with brilliant blue, silver and gold metallic paint.  The deep blue color of his body sparkles with glittery silver flecks.  His fur trim and dorsal scales are a silver color.  Many of his large body scales have been individually airbrushed with a dash of deeper blue paint giving them added detail.  He has dark shading on his nose.  His teeth, lips, claws and other decorations are painted metallic gold.  This dragon is as perfectly finished as our other Artist's edition paint jobs.  His antiquing is beautiful and he has a flawless medium glossy finish.
He has 24k gold plated pewter horns and chomps on his favorite chew toy, a dichroic crystal ball, which represents the globe of the Sun.  This dragon's eyes also have a special dichroic coating on the back.  The area of the eyes surrounding the black pupils will reflect different colors depending on the angle of the light hitting them.  He will come with a letter of authenticity.  He is 7" tall and about 10-1/2" long.

Emperor Dragon - Copper Gold - by Windstone Artist Olimpia Carapia
Here is an Artist's Edition Emperor Dragon painted in a color called "Copper Gold" by our head painter Olimpia Carapia.  This dragon is #1 of a small, but open edition in this color.

Rising Spectral Dragon - Fire - by Windstone Artist Olimpia Carapia

This dragon's body is a deep reddish, coppery bronze color, which blends into to lighter copper and gold.  His surface is glossy with glittery gold flecks.  Olimpia has applied 18K gold metallic paint to his wing trim, claws, horns and other decorations.
I am finding it hard to come up with words to express how pretty this dragon is in real life!  He is just beautiful!  This also means that Olimpia will probably paint more in this color, though they won't necessarily be identical to this one.
This dragon's eyes are optically clear crystal globes with a  dichroic coating on the back.  They will reflect different colors depending on the angle of the light hitting them, and will shine in very low light, like a cats.

Lap Dragon - Rain Forest - by Windstone Artist Olimpia Carapia
This is a Lap Dragon painted by our Head painter Olimpia Carapia.  As you can see, Olimpia is a free spirit with an airbrush.  This dragon is called "Rain Forest."  She has a combination of forest colors on her that nobody else would think of using together.  Green paint has been airbrushed over copper which makes brown.  This brown blends into blue and into light green, which turns into gold and then there is some more dark green.
Despite the colors, be assured that this dragon has the magnificent jewel-like quality that Olimpia's dragons are known for.  She is a mint dragon with shiny 23k gold plated pewter horns and a  blue zircon colored Swarovski jewel in her forehead.  She is signed on the bottom by Olimpia and will come with a letter of authenticity.  This dragon measures 7" tall and 9-1/2" in length and weighing in at 8 pounds.

Hatching Empress Dragon - Gold Leafed
This was a limited edition of three of these babies that I gilded with real 23k gold leaf. They are a brilliant real gold shaded with warm brown acrylic paint around the eyes, under the eggshell edge and under their wings. I have also used a few touches of golden acrylic paint in areas on their bodies where I just couldn't get the gold leaf to go on smoothly. The eggshells are painted with ivory white acrylic paint. Gold leaf has a distinctive look and texture. These dragons aren't glossy, but  have a lustrous "antiqued" look. Their glass eyes are red, as well as are the little jewels set between their eyes. We may paint more of these Hatching Empress dragons in a "gold" color with acrylic paint someday, but there will only be four total (we kept one as a sample) leafed in real gold! They came with a signed letter of authenticity and included a sketch of a dragon on the letter.

His body is painted in three colors: an orange color on his underside, face and paws, a reddish brown on his sides and a dark seal brown near his spine and around his eyes. The eggshell is painted ivory white with dark antique in the cracks. He is detailed with metallic gold paint and has little decorations of  green and blue spots. He has blue glass eyes and an aqua colored jewel in his forehead. This is a mint dragon with a Windstone Editions felt pad on the bottom and  hang tag. He is 6 " tall and 3-3/4" wide. This is the first auction of six special cats that I have painted with the bluish pearl wings and special invisible paint.  The special invisible paint is a wonderful "special effect" paint that only appears in sunlight or under a single point source light. Small Grey Tabby Flap Cat
This is the little bird winged flap cat painted in a grey tabby pattern. He is one of a signed and numbered limited edition of twenty-four that I have painted in this color. These are similar in coloring to the large flap cat that we issued in grey tabby, but the dark tiger stripes were painted using a stencil, instead of freehand airbrushing. This allowed me to paint these small cats with more detail than I could of with an airbrush alone. Their basic color is a warm grey with darker "tiger" tabby stripes. The toes and wings are ivory white and they have hand brush painted white face markings. The painted metallic gold collars are each set with an aqua colored jewel. These cats are all signed on the felt padded bottom by me, Melody Pena, and they will come with a signed letter of authenticity. These are mint, newly hand painted cats, all with a hangtag. They are 3-1/2 inches tall. The markings on these cats may vary slightly from this photo because they were individually handpainted. Orange Tabby Flap Cat
This is a prototype large flap cat painted in orange tabby colors. These are a limited edition of twelve that I have painted in this color. This sculpture was the first version I did of the large flap cat, before I decided to make him fatter, and with his eyes open. I really like this sculpture too, so I am very happy to have eBay as a place to show him! This cat is very similar to the eye open large flap cat that we sold through stores, but he has a younger looking face and a slimmer neck. His tail looks longer also, but maybe the tail of the regular flap cat is just fatter. He is 7 ½ inches tall and 6 ¼ inches long and weighs 6 pounds. He is airbrushed like an orange tabby, with slightly darker orange stripes. He has a white nose, paws and wings. I carefully antiqued this cat with dark grey, cream and dark orange color to bring out the details of his fur and feathers. The collar around his neck is painted metallic gold and is set with a blue jewel. These cats are mint. They have been signed by me and will all come with a signed letter of authenticity. He will have the Windstone Editions grey felt pad on the bottom and a hang tag.

Large Grey Tabby Flap Cat
This is a prototype large bird winged flap cat painted in grey tabby. These were issued as a signed and numbered limited edition of twelve in this color. These guys are castings made from the first version of the large flap cat sculpture, sculpted in 1992. The later version of this cat has his eyes open, which is nice too, but I always really liked him best like this with his eyes shut. I think it gives him a dreamy, blissful expression. These cats also have a slimmer neck, younger looking faces, and very long tails. The wings and body are almost identical to the regular large flap cat, and they are the same size... about 7-1/4 inches tall and 6-1/4 inches long. These are mint cats and have been airbrushed in the Windstone factory by me, Melody Pena. They have white wings, nose and paws, and warm grey, tiger-striped bodies The markings may vary slightly from cat to cat because they were airbrushed freehand. The collars are painted metallic gold and are each set with one ice blue jewel. They have the Windstone Editions felt pads and hangtags. I have signed and numbered them on the padded bottom. They each came with a signed letter of authenticity and included a sketch of a cat on the letter.

Large White Bird Winged Flap Cat
This white cat has beautiful light blue eyes...so he's probably deaf as a brick. (Is that really true about blue eyed cats?) The body of this cat is painted snowy white and he has pearly white wings. He has been lightly antiqued with grey, just enough to bring out the details of his fur and feathers. His nose and paw pads are pink. The collar is painted metallic gold and set with three light blue jewels that match his eyes. He's about 7-1/4 inches tall and 6-1/4 inches wide. This limited production cat is mint and comes with a hangtag.  He is signed by the artist, Melody Pena, on the grey felt bottom and he comes with a signed letter of authenticity.

Large Birman Flap Cat
I thought this color pattern was common to the "Burmese" breed of cat, but after doing some research on the breed, I didn't find them showing white markings. Turns out I had confused the two breeds, Burmese and Birman. I now know that there are many breeds of cats that have these markings, thanks to the help of the many people who have written to me! This color differs from the (now retired) large Siamese flapcat we produced by the ivory white markings on his feet, nose and chest. He also has white wings instead of the dark colored ones of the regular flapcat. His collar is set with three ice blue jewels rather than the purple jewels of the regular edition. This flapcat is mint and has been hand painted and signed by the artist, Melody Pena, in the Windstone factory. This is one of a limited production color that will only be offered directly form Windstone Editions occasionally, in small numbers.

Dark Calico Flap Cat
This is a limited edition Flapcat painted in "Dark Calico."  She is number 1 of 12 that we will auction on Ebay.
When I painted the previous edition of Calico Flapcats, a couple turned out darker than the rest.  Since they didn't match the others in this edition, I wasn't going to sell them, but due to popular demand, I did an edition of these as well. This mint kitty is painted with light ivory, reddish brown and warm black.  She has pearly white paint on her wings and wears a collar painted with 18k gold.  This "eye shut" sculpture is a prototype version of the regular "eye open" Flapcat.  In addition to having her eyes shut, her face and neck are slimmer, giving her a more youthful appearance.  She has a very long tail too.  She is 7 1/4 inches tall and about 6 1/4 inches wide. Each of these calico cats will have slightly different markings because they have been airbrushed freehand.  This is a mint cat, hand painted by me, Melody Pena, in the Windstone Editions factory.  I will sign and number the grey felt pad on the bottom and she will come with a signed letter of authenticity.

Large Calico Flap Cat
This is a large flapcat made by Windstone Editions and painted in Calico. This coat color is officially called "tortoise and white." This cat is number one of a limited edition of fifteen in this color pattern (we are keeping number sixteen as our sample). I also have "Dark Calico" flapcats that we will auction separately because they don't match this edition well enough. These have a different color pattern with less white. This cat has been airbrushed in light ivory white, tan and warm black acrylic paint. Her wings are painted pearly white. Her face and wing feathers have been antiqued with light grey to bring out the details. The gold painted collar is set with a green jewel. Each of these calico cats will have slightly different markings because they have been airbrushed freehand. This is a mint cat, hand painted by me, Melody Pena, in the Windstone Editions factory. The grey felt pad is signed on the bottom and she comes with a signed letter of authenticity.

Male Sushi Cat with Salmon Egg Sushi
This is my style of Lucky Neko Beckoning cat. The Neko cat, or lucky cat, is a traditional good luck figure which beckons the luck of your choice. This could be friends, fertility or good health, but most often they beckon good fortune in the form of cash. So... what do you want cash for? To buy a sushi dinner! My lucky cat cuts to the chase and beckons the  ultimate good fortune: lots of  sushi dinners with good friends. He is in the form of the traditional beckoning cat with one paw raised in a gesture of invitation, but unlike the traditional Neko cat, this cat holds a tray of salmon egg sushi with the requisite wasabi and ginger. This kind of sushi doesn't need it though, it tastes great by itself... with some good cold beer... anyway... as I was saying... They have been airbrushed and hand painted  by me in the bold colors that these traditional cats are known for: bright blue, red and green with gold painted accents on their collars and bibs and the sushi-chef style head bands. They are about  4-1/2"  tall and 2-1/2" across the hips. These are personal sculptures that I made for myself. These  lucky cats and their left handed partners were much too difficult to paint  for us to consider trying to sell as a  normal Windstone piece. That's why all of these cats got packed away in the Windstone warehouse until we rediscovered them. This is the only time we have ever offered these cats for sale! They were accompanied by a signed letter of authenticity.

Black Grand Unicorn
More old stock from the back of the Windstone warehouse. We apparently made eighteen of these before we decided not to offer the Grand Unicorns in Black. We shipped five to stores for test marketing in 1997, but we found we still had thirteen. They are the ideAntical casting as our White Grand Unicorns (#805), but were painted like our old Black Unicorn series. We've kept one, but the other twelve were sold as a signed limited edition. These unicorns have been stored in the original boxes and were in mint condition when sold. They have brown glass eyes, gold plated pewter horns and each has three red jewels set in their gold painted necklaces. They have the grey felt pad on the bottoms, but no hangtags. These are not numbered but he is signed by me.

Very Rare Windstone Editions Bobcat
When we started Windstone Editions, it was with a line of normal animal sculptures. We sold very few of these first animals before we discontinued them, to concentrate on dragons and other fancy stuff. These old bobcats are one of these very rare, very first Windstones. These cats were probably  paint samples. We discovered five of these guys packed away in a box. They had been stored in the warehouse for nearly twenty years! They are about 5-1/2" tall and 5-1/4" long. These were painted by me, Melody Pena, a long time ago! They are not mint, but I have personally given them a "factory-reconditioning" with some touch up paint and a few new coats of finish. They varied in color a little, some were tawny reddish, some were more of a light tan. They all had delicate little airbrushed black markings, (I used a combination of stenciling and free-hand airbrushing) white teeth and real fur tufts on the ears. Their new glass eyes are orange. These do not have pads or hangtags because they are so ancient, but I have signed the bottoms.

Paint-Your-Own Griffin by Windstone Artist Jennifer Miller
This is one of the new castings of the Paint Your Own Griffin (with better feather detail) and has been painted by Windstone artist Jennifer Miller. Jennifer is a very talented artist who has agreed to produce a series of Winstone Paint Your Own pieces to be sold only through Windstone Editions. We hired her to develop painting techniques and write our Paint Your Own Tutorial and after many experiments she has produced this incredible paint job. Entirely brush painted with accents of interference green and genuine gold leaf on the claws, this griffin is simply amazing! It measures approximately 7 inches tall and 5 1/2 inches across. It is absolutely of Windstone quality and will be signed on the bottom by Jennifer. It will be shipped from Windstone Editions with a signed letter of authenticity bearing a picture of this piece. By the way... this is a one of a kind piece! What is "one of a kind?" Just to be clear on what we mean: This piece was painted with pallet mixed paints, not stock colors. Future pieces may have similar patterns of color and detail, but will not be identical to this piece. On production pieces we try hard for consistency of color and detail to keep the painting identical but on artist painted pieces there is no attempt to do so unless it is to be a limited edition of a particular paint scheme.

Resplendent Griffin by Windstone Artist Jennifer Miller
This is my fifth unique "paint your own" griffin. I call this little guy a "Resplendent Griffin"- because man, is he ever! I had several collectors asking me to do a griffin with more color to it, so suffice to say I tried to oblige. This guy's colors are both bold and subtle at the same time because they shift depending on the angle you view him from. I like to think he's in his breeding plumage, ready to attract the ladies! This is one of those pieces that needs to be seen to be appreciated. He was painted in a rich burnt sienna and then meticulously painted with special interference paints over all of his plumage. He has some nice natural brown and creme colors but all along the top of his head, shoulders, and wings his feathers flash in color anywhere from gold to red. His feathers are tipped in areas with a neat green and purple flash, and even his wing barring flashes to a green color when viewed a certain way. He has real 18k gold leafing on his claws and a few other details. He's holding a dazzling cubic zirconia in his claws; perhaps as a gift for that special lady-griffin? (or his new owner!) He was brush painted by me so his details are 'sharper' than a production Windstone piece. I hope you will enjoy him as much as I enjoyed painting him!

Soft Feather Griffin by Windstone Artist Jennifer Miller
Here's an older one! This is a prototype PYO griffin painted by myself, Jennifer Miller, back in May of 2006. I want to be clear right off the bat- this isn't my best griffin (but he's definitely not the worst either!). I still think he's pretty nice. He is considered a prototype because this is the 'soft feather' griffin that was first released before Melody further sharpened and refined the details. These 'soft feather' griffins are no longer being cast. This guy was painted when I was still experimenting and writing the tutorial for PYOs (to see the tutorial, check out the "Paint-Your-Own Windstone" link on the Windstone website!). That, combined with his 'soft' feathers, means he's not as detailed as my other griffins. The paint on his rump isn't perfectly even either. He's been chilling out with all the other Windstones at the Windstone Factory for about eight months, and now he's ready for a new home! Overall, this griffin is mostly warm browns and creams. His nape and shoulder feathers are all shaded with warm browns to give them quite a bit of depth. His wings are mostly white on the inside with some light antiquing, and are nicely banded on the backs. He's got cute white hind-feet and I added some subtle green flash to the feathers on his shoulders and outer wings. He has green eyes and a felt pad singed by myself. He was brush painted by me so his details are 'sharper' than a production Windstone piece. I hope you will enjoy him as much as I enjoyed painting him! If you have any questions about me or the way I paint these you are welcome to email them to Windstone and I will be sure to get them.

Sun Griffin by Windstone Artist Jennifer Miller
I'm very excited to say that this is the first unique male griffin hand painted by myself, Jennifer Miller, and offered direct from Windstone Editions. To be clear, this piece is NOT a repainted production Windstone, but a new original paint job on a male griffin. I call this fellow a "Sun Griffin." Originally I intended to give him a sunstone in his necklace, but after I was unable to find one the right size, I gave him a nice natural smoky quartz instead. I had already named him a Sun Griffin though, so the name stuck! He is overall rich browns and creams, with lots of detail! Each feather has been carefully painted and layered for the most depth and detail. He's very hard to appreciate in photos. All along his barred neck feathers and ear tufts, there are flashes of subtle green as you look at him from different directions. The backs of his wings sport this green 'flash' in addition to some nice subtle copper-y flashes. His white and cream chest and belly feathers have a very subtle pearly shimmer, and even his fur has a tiny glimmer to it in strong light. His beak has a pretty orange and gold sheen as well. I adorned his necklace with a solid smoky quartz in the center, accented by two genuine solid opals (not man-made). These little opals have a lot of fire in them. His necklace, claws, and other accents in his tail and cheeks have 18k gold leaf on them. He has nice yellow straw colored eyes. He was brush painted by me with tiny brushes so his details are 'sharper' than a production Windstone piece (which are mostly airbrushed). I took a small silly video of myself working on him to share with the Windstone Forum members, and Melody thought all of you may enjoy seeing how he was painted! If you want to see, you may click the following link: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gEbkmxFgYVA. I hope you will enjoy him as much as I enjoyed painting him! I really loved painting this griffin, he's one of my favorites! If you have any questions about me or the way I paint these you are welcome to email them to Windstone and I will be sure to get them. I have hand signed his felt pad.

Moon Griffin by Windstone Artist Jennifer Miller
I'm very excited to say that this is the first unique mother griffin hand painted by myself, Jennifer Miller, and offered direct from Windstone Editions. The mother griffin is one of Melody's newest pieces to be made, and to date is only available in pearl white as a limited production piece (they are planning others though!). To be clear, this piece is NOT a repainted production Windstone, but a new original and unique paint job on a mother griffin officially sold by Windstone Editions. I call this lovely lady the "Moon Griffin". The Sun is typically depicted as having a male connotation, while the Moon is typically given female attributes. Plus, she has moonstones! She is overall rich browns and creams, with lots of detail! Each feather has been carefully painted and layered for the most depth and detail. She's very hard to appreciate in photos. All along her barred neck feathers, tearmarks, and ear tufts, there are flashes of blue-violet as you look at her from different directions. The intensity of these flashes depends on the lighting and the viewing angle and is very beautiful. The backs of her wings sport this blue-violet 'flash'. Her white and cream chest and inner wing feathers have a very subtle pearly blue shimmer. A stronger blue shine can be seen along the wrists of her wings and the feathers above her beak. Her beak and claws have a pretty orange and gold sheen as well. I adorned her necklace and rump-jewelry with solid moonstone cabochons, and her tail-band has a solid, natural opal. The opal and moonstones have a lot of fire in them. I want to make a special note about the moonstones- the moonstones are translucent to transparent in color with flashes of a soft blue across them. This means that whatever color is behind them will show through. The glue that was used to adhere them is very strong, and clear when it is dry. When these photos were taken it was not yet dry and still milky white. Over time the glue will turn clear and the black backing of the necklace will show though, enhancing the blue flash in the moonstones. They will be more beautiful than these photos show! Her necklace, claws, and other accents in her tail have 18k gold leaf on them. She has a magnificent pair of glass lavender colored eyes. She was brush painted by me with tiny brushes so her details are 'sharper' than a production Windstone piece (which are mostly airbrushed). I've signed her felt pad on the bottom. I've included a silly little sketch done by myself as a thank you to her new owners (this is from myself personally, not Windstone).

Royal Kirin by Windstone Artist Jennifer Miller
This is my first unique "paint your own" kirin. I call this little guy a "Royal Kirin." Kirins are mythical hooved chimerical creatures that originate in Asian mythology, and I chose colors that have strong meanings in many Asian cultures; red representing good fortune, happiness, prosperity and fame, and gold is often referred to as being an imperial (or royal) color. Kirin mythology is pretty neat and is worth looking up if you aren't familiar with these critters! This guy is overall fairly simple but I think he's kinda charming nonetheless. His scales are a shimmery red with a flash of gold and green depending on how you look at him. His fur is painted with rich browns, ambers, and just a touch of gold. He has deep brown eyes and real 18k gold leaf on his hooves. As with all Windstone kirins, his horn is gold plated. I hand-signed his felt pad on the bottom. I hope you will enjoy him as much as I enjoyed painting him!

Aluminum Kirin by Windstone Artist Jennifer Miller

My second kirin to be sold through Windstone, the Aluminum Kirin! This guy was partially painted and partially covered in real aluminum leaf. He's very unique and a little eclectic! The colors on this fellow are of course silver on his scales, hooves and horn where he is leafed with aluminum and his fur fades from a warm cream to a pale brown. He has shimmery hints of interference gold to his fur. It almost looks like antique ivory. He has been antiqued overall with a warm brown. He has eerie silver eyes and his horn has been leafed as well so it is not gold, but silver in color. The aluminum leaf is real aluminum that has been hammered into thin sheets, then applied to the kirin with a gilding adhesive. He was a test to see how well the leafing would work for other pieces I'm planning. Because of the nature of the leaf, the surface of his scales is not perfect or smooth like most Windstones, but has an antique, almost crumbly look to it. It is not even like paint would be. It has rough spots and looks a bit crackly. To me, he looks like he is wearing a coat of old, beat up armor. Perhaps he's been in some epic battles against evil forces. Who knows! You don't have to worry about displaying him though; he has been sealed with a clear coat so he is as protected as any Windstone figurine.

Black Point Wolf by Windstone Artist Jennifer Miller
This is my second unique "paint your own" winged wolf to be listed through Windstone Editions. Wolves are amazing animals and I hoped to do them justice though mostly natural colorations. I call this one a 'Black-Point wolf." Even though she is so dark, this wolf leaves an overall warm impression, and I like to think she looks a little mysterious. Then again, perhaps the paint fumes are getting to me. She was painted overall with deep, warm umber browns, fading to black. Her coat fades to cream colored tips around her face and shoulders, and her belly is lighter. Her muzzle, legs, and tail fade to a deep black at the tips; a stunning wolf! Her wings are lightly banded in umber, and when viewed from certain angles flash a surprising interference purple! It adds a subtle sparkle of color to her feathers. There are just barely a few touches of gold to the top edge of her wings. She has thoughtful brown eyes, and as with all my pieces he has been sealed with a clear coat to protect his paint. He was brush painted by me so his details are 'sharper' than a production Windstone piece. I hope you will enjoy him as much as I enjoyed painting him!

His necklace, claws, and other accents in his tail and cheeks have aluminum leaf on them (silver would have tarnished-aluminum will remain shiny!). He has nice light blue glass eyes. Labradorite Mother Griffin by Windstone Artist Jennifer Miller

She is overall white and warm brownish-grey, with lots of detail and dark feather banding. Each feather has been carefully painted and layered for the most depth and detail. He's very hard to appreciate in photos. All along her barred neck, chest, and leg feathers, there are flashes of icy blue as you look at her from different directions. The backs of her wings and ear-tufts sport this blue 'flash' quite strongly. Please note that she is a warmer grey/brown than the male griffin. This was done intentionally. I pull much of my inspiration from nature and I wanted to make the male and female subtly dimorphic in color just as many birds are. I adorned her necklace with a solid, labradorite cabochon in the center. Her rump jewelry also sports a nice labradorite cabochon and her tail ring has a nice little sapphire in it.  Her labradorites are a grey smoky color with a brilliant strong blue flash. There really is nothing like seeing these stones in person! Her jewelry and other accents in her tail have aluminum leaf on them (silver would have tarnished - aluminum will remain shiny!). She has nice light blue glass eyes. She is 9 3/4 inches long and about  6 inches tall. This chick is overall white and warm brownish-grey with lots of detail and dark feather banding. Each feather has been carefully painted and layered for the most depth and detail. It's very hard to appreciate in photos. All along its barred shoulder feathers there are flashes of icy blue as you look at it from different directions. The backs of the wings, the feathers on the tail and ear-tufts sport this blue 'flash' quite strongly. I adorned the necklace with a solid, labradorite cabochon in the center. The labradorite is a grey smoky color with a brilliant strong blue flash. There really is nothing like seeing these stones in person! The jewelry and other accents in its little tail have aluminum leaf on them (silver would have tarnished - aluminum will remain shiny!). This chick has nice light blue glass eyes. This chick was brush painted by me with tiny brushes so the details are 'sharper' than a production Windstone piece (which are mostly airbrushed) and don't have the soft gradient shading that you might be used to on production airbrushed pieces. This chick has been signed, dated, numbered and labeled on the felt pad by me. This chick has teeny tiny felt pads so I didn't have room to write "Labradorite Griffin." Instead, it just says "LG" which is short for Labradorite Griffin. You will receive a Certificate of Authenticity from the Windstone Factory with this griffin. If you have any questions about me or the way I paint these you are welcome to email me! My email is nam_art@hotmail.com.

Neptune Emperor Dragon by Windstone Artist Jennifer Miller
This is a special emperor dragon custom painted by myself, Jennifer Miller, and offered direct from Windstone Editions. To be clear, this piece is NOT a repainted production Windstone, but a new original and official paint job on an Emperor dragon. I call this fine fellow the Neptune Emperor - both in reference to Poseidon of the sea (as per his coloration he seems fit to be the king of the sea) and to the colors of the planet. This is the fine fellow I had with me at Dragon*Con for those that might be looking for him. He is overall beautiful ocean colors, with rich blues and greens that fade to a pearly shell color on his belly, inner wings and 'ears'. His colors shift and shine as you walk around him as he was meticulously hand painted with special paints and dry pigments that make him very metallic and resplendent. His claws and accents are done in aluminum leaf (real metal that is pounded thin then applied)- it looks silver and very nice (real silver would tarnish). He has lovely straw-yellow colored eyes.  The large gem in his forehead is a natural faceted labradorite and the other gem is a fiery natural opal cabochon.
This dragon is considered an Open Artist's EditionFor now this Emperor Dragon is a "one-of-a-kind" but if everyone likes the color, I may paint some more that are similar or the same. Due to the labor intensive method of painting this guy, no future piece can ever be identical even if I wanted it to be. In any case, this one will be marked as Number One.
This is a very special dragon and is the first non-"paint your own" dragon I have done for Windstone. He has been signed by myself on the felt pad, and is labeled with the date of completion, the words "Neptune Emperor" and #1 as he is the first emperor I have painted.
He measures a stately 13" tall and weighs enough that he dented my lap when I was painting him, so he is a substantial and impressive fellow, sure to stand out amongst your collection! This dragon came with a Certificate of Authenticity.

Wedding Cake Family
While digging through boxes in the Windstone warehouse, we found this family of white dragons that look like wedding cakes. These are a one-of-a-kind paint test of a possible white dragon color. This was a color that was considered (for about a nano-second) before we decided on the pearly white and gold color for our white dragons. They are as rare as you can get, which may be a good thing because they are pretty weird looking. They are painted pure white with silver decorations that strongly resemble those little silver things that they put on wedding cakes. They have very deep dark blue eyes. This male dragon has an unusually malevolent expression because the upper and lower eye lids of this one particular male dragon mold (meaning all the dragons cast from this one individual mold) were closer together than usual. The eyes were changed in later versions of this dragon because it made gluing in the eyes difficult and gave me the creeps. The adults are in new condition. They have been sitting around in the Windstone factory for awhile and have never been in a store. The two adults do not have hang tags because they were never intended for sale. The hatchling, however, is mint. He was not  made at the same time as these two adults,  I just painted him to match because I decided they needed a baby. I did not paint the adults myself. Only the hatchling has a hang tag and they are signed on their felt pads by me, Melody Pena, and a letter of authenticity goes with them.

Albino Pearl Griffin (aka Pearl Male Griffin)
This is the first time we have offered a blue eyed Albino Pearl griffin. I've had many requests for an albino griffin with blue eyes instead of pink! We painted this blue eyed albino to look similar to a pink eyed albino, but his feathers and most of his body are air brushed with a lustrous pearly white paint instead of ivory white, though he has some areas of ivory white on him also. He is lightly antiqued with a pale grey color to show his details. His eagle paws are painted a pinkish cream color and the claws on all four feet are painted with a pearly silver-pink color. He wears a 23k gold leafed collar with light blue jewels that match his light blue glass eyes. (His eyes are a paler blue than the color our dragons usually have.) He also has little gold leafed feather decorations on his cheeks and tail. This Griffin is mint with a felt pad and hang tag. This limited production piece is signed on the grey felt bottom by me, Melody Pena, and he comes with a signed letter of authenticity.

Rising Spectral - White
We have never before offered the Spectral dragon in white. This dragon is pearl white with pale gold details and edges on his wings to match the retired white Windstone dragon family. He is called "spectral" because he has special crystal globe eyes with a reflective rainbow coating on the back. These eyes catch lots of light and under the right lighting will shine back at you just like a cat's eyes will. This is a mint dragon with a Windstone Editions hangtag and grey felt pad on the bottom. These are a limited production edition. These were made in small batches and were only available directly from us. I signed him on the padded bottom and the winners also got a letter of authenticity.

Available in our online store for $300

Rising Spectral - Brown
This is a Windstone Editions Spectral dragon painted in "old brown." We have never issued this dragon in brown before! This dragon is airbrushed with paint that was left over from the most recent version of the retired "brown" dragon line, so the color will match the recent version of the brown family perfectly. He is painted in three colors: an orange color on his wings, underside, face and other points; a reddish brown on his body; and a dark seal brown near his spine and around his eyes. He is detailed with metallic gold paint and has little dots of green and blue paint on his hips, shoulders and face. Unlike the other brown dragons that have normal blue glass eyes, this dragon's eyes are special reflective globes that shine like a cat's eyes. This dragon design does not have a jewel in his forehead. This is a mint dragon with a Windstone Editions felt pad on the bottom and hang tag. He is about 11-1/2 inches tall. This is a "limited production" dragon, so he isn't numbered, but signed on the bottom and with a signed letter of authenticity. He was shipped directly from the Windstone factory.

Rising Spectral - Intense Violet Emerald Peacock
This is the Rising  Spectral dragon in "Intense Violet" Emerald Peacock. He is almost identical to the production Emerald Peacock that is available in stores, but he has the brighter violet color on his undersides. The Production version has  a slightly more bluish violet. This is the first one of ten we will list here on Ebay. His eyes are crystal globes with a mirror-like coating on the back. They reflect in dim light, like a cats and change color depending on the angle you view them from. He has 18k gold painted trim and details and has an amethyst colored jewel set in his forehead. He is about 11-1/2 inches tall. This dragon is mint, with a hang tag, and is signed  by me, Melody Pena, on the felt bottom. He comes with a letter of authenticity.

Spectral - Special Gold
This is sitting Spectral dragon from Windstone Editions painted in "Special Gold." He is the first of ten in this color that we are offering here on eBay. Spectral Dragons NEARLY identical to this one will be available in stores soon!
However, these dragons are special. The first ten of these golden dragons are also painted with magic invisible paint over the gold. No kidding! This is an amazing (and hideously expensive) automotive paint  that is almost invisible in indoor light, but if you take the dragon outside in the sun, or perhaps put him under a strong, single point light source,  you will see dazzling little specks of rainbow glitter appear. It is really gorgeous. I wish it worked indoors! He is otherwise painted exactly like our most recent production version of golden dragons, so he will match the rest of the family just fine. His body is airbrushed with different shades of metallic gold and copper acrylic paint and is shaded with dark brown with a touch of violet interference paint over it. His eyes are crystal globes that have a reflective rainbow coating on the back. They will shine brightly even in low light! This dragon is mint, with a hang tag and is signed  by me, Melody Pena, on the felt bottom. He will come with a letter of authenticity.
If you have any questions about this dragon you can email me at:  reptangle@gmail.com

Male Dragon - Gold
The first Golden Male Dragon... soon to be available in stores as a regular color. We are planning to offer the first ten of each of our dragon designs that will be painted in this golden color on eBay. These will be identical to the dragons that you will be able to buy from your local Windstone dealer, except these will be signed on the bottom by me, Melody Pena, and will come with a letter of authenticity. The letter will include a hand drawn pencil sketch by me, as well as my signature and a small color picture of the dragon. The golden Fledgling and Lap Dragons will not be sold in stores and will remain "limited production." This means that these two designs will only be issued in gold in small batches, available from us directly. His body is painted in a rich golden color and he is detailed with shiny metallic gold on his decorations and claws. He has a slightly lighter, more pearly golden color on his spine, inside of wings, chest and the large scales on his legs, and has some brown shading along his spine. He has a glossy finish. This mint Male Dragon has red glass eyes and red jewels. He will be signed on the felt bottom by me and will come with a hang tag.

Curled Dragon - Red Flame
This is a little Curled Dragon  from Windstone Editions in the limited production color "Red Flame."
He is new! We have never before issued this dragon sculpture. He was originally intended to be a taper candle holder, but this bright idea was abandoned after he tipped over with a long candle in place. He now curls around a 20mm crystal globe. This globe is a gorgeous optically clear crystal ball with a reflective coating on the back. Very cool. He has one orange glass eye open and one eye shut, as if you had just awakened him. He also has a brilliant light yellow jewel in his forehead. This is a very small dragon, he can easily fit into your palm. He is about 1 7/8" high, 2 3/4" diameter and weighs 8 ounces. He is airbrushed in a color that is between the "ruby" and the "flame color," so I call it "red flame." Most of his body is a goldish red with small amounts of gold and violet. He has details of metallic gold and is antiqued with dark brown. This mint, limited production dragon is signed by me, Melody Pena, on the felt padded bottom. He will have a hang tag and a signed letter of authenticity.

Curled Dragon - Emerald Peacock
This is a limited production Curled Dragon from Windstone Editions painted in our new color, Emerald Peacock. He fits right in the palm of your hand. He is airbrushed with metallic green, blue and violet acrylic paint and has accents of metallic gold paint on his horns, scales and wings. The imported crystal sphere he is snuggling with has a reflective rainbow colored coating on the back of it so it will shine in very low light, like a cat's eyes. His one open eye is of blue glass and he looks as though he was just awakened. His forehead is set with an amythyst colored jewel. This is a mint dragon painted  in the Windstone Editions factory. (This first batch of twenty was painted by Melody Pena.) The felt bottom is signed by the artist and comes with a hang tag and a letter of authenticity.

Curled Dragon - White
This dragon matches our old white color dragons. She is airbrushed with pearl white and shaded with pale gold. Her horns, details and wing ribs were painted with pale gold and her open eye is straw colored glass. She has a pale golden jewel set in her forehead. She is curled around an optically clear crystal globe which has a reflective rainbow coating on the back. The felt bottom is signed by the artist and comes with a hang tag and a letter of authenticity.

Coiled Dragon - Black Gold - Special
This is the first of ten of these Black Gold Coiled dragons that we will auction on eBay. This is a new color for this dragon! Dragons almost exactly the same will be available in stores for about $83, so don't fret. This dragon, however, is special. He has been painted with magic invisible paint. If you hold the dragon in the sunlight, this special effect paint will sparkle with gorgeous rainbow glitter. It is almost invisible indoors, so this allows him to match the other dragons in the black gold family, while still being special!
I think this dragon looks especially nice in this color. The bright gold dorsal ridge emphasizes the swooping roller coaster-like composition I have going on here and his dark body makes a dramatic setting for the reflective crystal globe he guards. His wings are shaded with gold ruby and a touch of violet interference paint. He has blue glass eyes and an Amethyst colored jewel in his forehead. This mint dragon will be shipped directly from Windstone Editions. He will come with a  hang tag and a signed letter of authenticity.

Fledgling Dragon - Green
This is the Fledgling dragon painted in our "Old Green" color. We have never painted this dragon design in this color until now. Our "Old Green" dragons  have been retired for years, but I found a couple bottles of the original paint we used on them! He is airbrushed with two shades of green acrylic paint and has a soft blush of a orange brown color on his shoulders and hips. He has details of metallic gold paint and spots of blue and lavender on his small scales. I tried to mimic the color and pattern of the old green dragons we have done but they did vary alot. This guy will best match the darker green version of that color. His orange brown blush color may be a little more subtle than many of the old production greens we have sold in the past, but this is how I really intended the color to look, so I painted him this way. He has orange glass eyes and a amethyst colored jewel in his forehead. This mint, limited production piece shipped directly from Windstone Editions. He's signed on the bottom by me, Melody Pena, and he comes with a signed letter of authenticity and a hang tag.
